WooCommerce 9.9 Release is Delayed

June 4, 2025 Update: The WooCommerce 9.9 Release will be delayed with an additional update coming on Monday, June 9.

Hi, folks! We are eagerly working on bringing you the best possible updates to WooCommerce.

We have an important update regarding the WooCommerce 9.9 release schedule.

Initially scheduled for Monday, June 2, 2025, we’ve are postponing the release of WooCommerce 9.9 to the tentative date of Monday June 9, 2025.

Reason for delay

We ran into an issue in both 9.9.0 and 9.9.1 where fatal errors were triggered.

In 9.9.0 we caught a fatal error for requests to the comment feeds due to a missing callback to filter our webhook responses from the comment data.

Once resolved, in 9.9.1 we caught a fatal error stemming from extensions that override the WC_Email class without ->template_html properly set. Since we are unable to pinpoint the exact number of sites affected, we felt it best to resolve the issue and push our stable release to 9.9.2 with the fixes deployed.

What happens next?

We will check back in on June 9, 2025 12pm UTC and let you know the status of the release. As always, we’ll keep you informed of any developments through this blog.

    my 2 cents: if you plan to release 9.9.2 later on for better safety of our merchants upgrades, it seems ideal to do it next Monday 9th, where we have the weekdays to report problems or do it with more security…thanks as usual

  2. The fact that you guys communicate delays etc is huge. It builds trust! We do a lot of preorder sales on our military brick business and there are always delays so we do the same and reading your updates helps me understand how helpful it is as a consumer. We depend on woocommerce for our livelihood and all the changes are epic and we appreciate you guys!
